New Quality Manager at Semco
Meet Sam Milo, our new Quality Manager! Sam is new to this role, but he’s not new to Semco. For five years, Sam has been invaluable in his role as Semco Production Manager, and we’re excited to welcome him into his new role. Sam’s 27 years in manufacturing have prepared him well for this position.
The Role of Quality Manager
The role of Quality Manager is crucial at a company like Semco that prides itself on getting and keeping a strong client base that returns to us again and again for their graphite manufacturing needs. Trust is a huge part of that customer relationship, and Sam will be on the front line of maintaining that trust. As Quality Manager, Sam will help ensure that the quality of our output meets and even exceeds customer expectations. A deep knowledge of industry standards and our entire graphite machining operation is necessary for success in this role, and Sam has that knowledge. He has put 27 years into manufacturing and has spent five years as Production Manager (while also serving a dual role as Quality Representative) at Semco, where he was responsible for 72 employees and four supervisors. Sam is certainly one of our most experienced and knowledgeable employees, and is excited to build new relationships with customers and strengthen old ones.
Sam’s Role in Semco’s ISO 9001 Certification
Sam has worked hard to maintain certification of ISO-9001 for Semco Carbon (read more about that impressive accomplishment here). Because of Sam’s dedication to this project, Semco can now compete for major contracts where ISO certification is required. Additionally, ISO-9001 certification has ensured more consistency and conformity to customer requirements for all our customers. Sam’s initiative during this entire process demonstrated a level of professionalism and aptitude that sets Semco apart from other graphite manufacturing shops.
Work-Life Balance at Semco
In the Semco family, we encourage our employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Happy and fulfilled employees make for a solid, stable company. Sam is a testament to the value of this balance. Sam and his wife are putting Josh, their older child, through Purdue, where he just finished his freshman year. Annie, their second, is in middle school. In addition to being a sports fan, Sam enjoys a range of outdoor activities, from golf and beach volleyball to hiking, fishing, biking, and jogging. We wish Sam luck in his new role, but we don’t think he’ll need it.
